For Kimia Allison, wellness is more than a trending topic—it’s a pathway to liberation. As the founder of Joifull Wellness Coaching, Kimia helps women rediscover their power through self-love, self-trust, and intentional living. Her journey from unexpected job loss to entrepreneurship is a testament to resilience, transformation, and stepping boldly into purpose.
Turning Pain Into Purpose

Kimia’s entrepreneurial journey began with an unexpected layoff from a job she loved. Instead of allowing the setback to define her, she embraced it as an opportunity to rediscover herself, confront past trauma, and align with her true purpose.
“I was forced to pause and ask, ‘Who am I outside of work? What do I truly want?’” she recalls. “That’s when I realized my journey to self-healing could also help others.”
Through Joifull Wellness Coaching, she created a safe space for women to process their pain, rebuild self-trust, and live with intention. Her mission is clear: to guide others on the journey she once had to navigate alone.
Overcoming Fear and Self-Doubt in Business
Starting Joifull Wellness Coaching wasn’t without its challenges. Kimia had already tried entrepreneurship before—a candle business that didn’t take off as planned—which left her with lingering doubts.
“I had to address the deep-rooted beliefs that made me doubt my worthiness,” she says. “When I started to heal my relationship with myself, I realized my success was never about external validation—it was about trusting my own vision.”
This inner shift changed everything. She committed to believing in herself, knowing that the right systems and strategies would follow. Now, she encourages women to recognize that mindset is just as important as business strategy.
The Power of Self-Love and Trust in Wellness
At the core of Joifull Wellness Coaching is the belief that self-love creates a ripple effect. Kimia emphasizes that when women honor themselves, they naturally empower others.
“I believe that when you love yourself, you do things that love you back,” she explains. “That means choosing relationships, habits, and actions that support your well-being and growth.”
Her coaching approach isn’t just about wellness—it’s about changing how women see themselves and their impact on the world around them.
Balancing Business, Personal Life, and Self-Care
For Kimia, balance is non-negotiable. After witnessing how work once consumed her life, she now ensures that her business supports her well-being—not the other way around.
“My planner is my best friend,” she laughs. “I intentionally plan my week to include family time, personal care, and work—because if I’m not well, my business won’t be either.”
She also acknowledges that balance looks different for everyone. Her advice? Design a business that aligns with the life you want.

The Role of Representation and Black Women in Business
Kimia’s identity as a Black woman entrepreneur deeply influences her approach to business. She recognizes that Black women are the innovators, yet historically have lacked generational blueprints for entrepreneurship.
“I didn’t grow up seeing entrepreneurship modeled for me,” she shares. “Like many, my family valued job security over business ownership. But I knew I wanted something different.”
Now, she uses her platform and lived experience to show other Black women that success is possible on their own terms.
A Support System Rooted in Love
Kimia credits much of her confidence and perseverance to her wife, who has been her greatest supporter. “Even before I believed in myself, she saw my potential,” Kimia says. “She keeps me grounded, organized, and reminds me that I am limitless.”
Having a strong support system, she notes, is essential for navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
Making Wellness Accessible for Everyone
Kimia is passionate about ensuring that wellness isn’t just a luxury for the wealthy. She offers a range of services to meet women wherever they are—from high-end retreats to free breathing and movement classes.
“Your financial status shouldn’t determine whether you have access to wellness,” she asserts. “That’s why I provide multiple options, so every woman can benefit from this work.”

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
For Black women looking to step into entrepreneurship—especially in the wellness space—Kimia offers this advice:
Trust yourself. Your vision is valid, and no one knows your calling better than you.
Don’t chase every strategy. Find what works for you instead of blindly following trends.
Rest is resistance. Hustle culture isn’t sustainable—prioritize your well-being.
Surround yourself with people who believe in you. A strong support system is everything.
The Future of Joifull Wellness Coaching
In the next five years, Kimia envisions expanding her retreats, hosting large-scale wellness workshops, and making holistic healing more accessible.
“I want people to see that wellness isn’t just about spa days and green juices,” she says. “It’s about reclaiming your joy, your health, and your life—regardless of where you come from or how much money you make.”
She is currently working on a special project designed specifically for Black women, aiming to create a sacred space for healing, self-discovery, and transformation.
Building a Lasting Legacy
Kimia’s ultimate goal? To leave a legacy of healing, empowerment, and self-liberation.
“I want people to say that I didn’t just build a business—I helped women reclaim their joy and power,” she says. “At the end of the day, that’s what really matters.”
