Dear Black Woman,
This is not a drill, it’s a lullaby…I know you feel it in your spirit, your soul speaks for you sometimes, and I ask you not to silence it. For years and years our ancestors have been guiding us whether we know it or not.
Your great great great GREAT grandmother carried you, your daughters and granddaughters will carry future generations. Heal your DNA, rest, recover, rejuvenate. Allow your dreams whether in the day or night to speak to you. Meditate to connect with your inner self…and find God.
When you have fully rested, when your cup is overflowing, nurture and feed your self, your family, and your community. Allow these same people to give back to you. Accept. Accept the help, it doesn’t make you weak. You don’t have to prove to anyone that you are strong or powerful, we know. Even the ones who’d like to ignore it. You are chosen and you know that.
Give grace to your sisters who are learning, who are not quite there yet, and who are lost. The world has been conditioned to tear us down then mold us the way they see fit. Smile, compliment, uplift. They need it.
When the world wakes up, we’ll be fine…because we always rise.
Remember, this is not a drill, it’s a lullaby.
