Dear Black Woman from Alicia Hurtt

Alicia Hurtt

Dear Black Woman,

I see you. I see the weight you carry, the battles you’ve fought, and the grace with which you’ve risen time and time again. I know what it feels like to carry silent struggles, to question your strength, your faith, and your place in this world. But let me remind you of something powerful: You are not alone.

When I wrote I See My Baby, it was born from a deeply personal journey a journey of overcoming infertility, battling depression, and wrestling with a lack of faith. There were days I felt isolated, as if no one could understand the pain I carried. But even in my lowest moments, there was a glimmer of hope, a whisper reminding me to hold on.

I leaned on my village those who surrounded me with love, prayer, and encouragement when I couldn’t find the words to pray for myself. I learned to let my husband lead and protect me spiritually, allowing us to stand together in faith. Through it all, I realized the importance of surrendering my fears and doubts to God, trusting that His plans for me were good, even when I couldn’t see them.

And, Black woman, that’s the message I want to share with you today: You don’t have to carry it all alone. Your pain, your struggles, and your doubts are not the end of your story. There is a community ready to lift you up. There is strength in allowing others to cover you, and there is healing in trusting that brighter days are ahead.

Now, I rejoice. I look at my life, my children, my family, and my purpose, and I can see how far I’ve come. I’ve been able to give back to my local community, to support other women navigating their own journeys, and to walk confidently in my calling.

You, too, have a testimony waiting to be written a story of triumph, faith, and resilience. Even in moments of uncertainty, know that you are seen, you are loved, and you are deeply valued. Your journey matters, and so does the joy that is waiting for you on the other side.

Take a moment to breathe deeply, to stand tall, and to speak these words aloud: I am enough. I am loved. I am worthy. Because you are.

As you continue on this path, remember that you don’t have to walk it alone. Lean into your faith, your community, and your own inner strength. You are destined for greatness, and you are more powerful than you know.

With love and admiration,
